Defender Brian McLean has impressed in Rangers' reserve side |
Scottish-born Rangers defender Brian McClean is set to make his debut for Northern Ireland Under-21s against Scotland on Tuesday. McClean, who qualifies for the province through his grandparents, is desperate to get part of the action at the Oval.
"It would be the greatest moment of my career to be given the chance to represent Northern Ireland," he said.
"If given the opportunity to play I will give the manager Roy Millar and the fans 100% effort and commitment".
Twenty-year-old McLean has had a good year playing for Rangers reserves at centre-half but has yet to make his senior debut.
Glentoran defender Sean Ward has also earned his first call-up to the under-21 squad, along with Gretna's Brian Gilfillan and Hibernian's Sammy Morrow.
