Norway coach Aage Hareide pointed out that his side are still in control of their own World Cup destiny, despite a 2-1 defeat at home to Scotland. They had gone into the game hopeful of challenging Italy for top spot in Group Five after beating Slovenia, who are now level with them in second spot.
And Hareide said: "It was disastrous. Scotland never got near our goal.
"But they scored twice, which is a concern. But we are still favourites to finish second."
Norway have a home tie against Moldova followed by a visit to Belarus as they chase a play-off place.
Slovenia face a difficult trip to Italy then are at home to Scotland, who must first play host to Belarus.
