Scotland player ratings vs Norway
Marks out of 10 for the Scotland players in their World Cup qualifying tie with Norway.

Craig Gordon: Made a shaky start by missing his punch at a corner that almost led to a Norway opener, but the Hearts goalkeeper recovered to pull off a couple of class saves.

Graham Alexander: Another steady, if unglamorous performance by the Preston North End defender, this time in a wing-back role.

David Weir: The Everton veteran marshalled the defence well in his usual quiet but effective manner and produced a couple of trademark vital interventions.

Andy Webster: The Hearts defender was a tower of strength, commanding in the air, as he continued to improve at international level.

Jackie McNamara: The Wolverhampton Wanderers defender is contemplating retiring from international football, but Walter Smith would miss his steady performances and versatility, this time playing out of position as left wing-back.

Steven Pressley: Returned from suspension and the Hearts defender produced a superb marking job on in-form striker John Carew despite giving away inches in height.

Paul Hartley: The Hearts midfielder is making the most of his late call to the international scene and his creative and energetic play was rewarded with the cross that led to Scotland's second goal.

Darren Fletcher: The Manchester United midfielder combined excellently and cleverly with Hartley until running out of steam late on.

Barry Ferguson: Still troubled by the blisters that hampered his performance against Italy, the Rangers midfielder established the control of central midfield that allowed Scotland to build their lead and also played his part in the opening goal.

James McFadden: Showed the flashes of skill that led him to win a move from Motherwell but also the inconsistency that has prevented him becoming a regular with Everton. However, he did set up the opening goal with a fine header (replaced with Beattie, 72).

Kenny Miller: The Wolves striker followed his stunning individual performance against Italy with a superb marksman's double that set up a fine victory before being forced off just before half time with a hip injury (replaced with McCann, 40).

Substitutes

Neil McCann (on for Kenny Miller, 40 mins): Looked ring-rusty against Italy on Saturday, but the out-of-favour Southampton winger produced a lively performance wide on the left but missed a chance to put Scotland 3-0 ahead.

Craig Beattie (on for James McFadden, 72 mins): The Celtic striker proved dangerous with his pace and came close to setting up a breakaway goal for Neil McCann.
