Feyenoord coach Ruud Gullit believes Chelsea assistant Steve Clarke is the man to succeed Berti Vogts as manager of the Scottish national team. "I love Steve," said Gullit, for whom Clarke was assistant at Stamford Bridge. "He is a very loyal person and has a lot of knowledge of football.
"I'll always look back on him as a great man and I'm very happy he's at Chelsea doing the coaching.
"I think he would be the ideal man to become the coach of the national team."
Vogts is expected to be sacked in the coming days, with Gordon Strachan and Walter Smith emerging as favourites to succeed the German.
But Gullit, whose Feyenoord side host Hearts in the Uefa Cup on Thursday, said: "I wish Steve luck and hope one day that he can be on his own.
"It is a difficult period for the Scotland national team, but hopefully they are going to resolve it."
