 | WORLD CUP QUALIFYING GRP 6 Wales v Northern Ireland Wed 8 Sep, Cardiff 2000 BST kick-off |
Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez has insisted that his side can bounce back from the 3-0 defeat by Poland by getting a result against Wales. "I have seen the players in training. They want to put the situation right and give the supporters something to smile about," said Sanchez.
The Irish boss said that all the pressure would be on Wales after the failure to win in Azerbaijan.
"The pressure was all on us at the weekend and we failed."
Despite Northern Ireland's chastening experience against the Poles, striker James Quinn is determined to savour the atmosphere at the Millennium Stadium with a 70,000 full house expected.
Quinn, who plays in Holland with Willem II, looks certain to start even though he made little impact in the Group Six opener.
"It has got to be an uplifting experience, " he said.

"If you are scared of going out there and playing you should not be in the game."
Quinn is so determined to play for his country that he will consider quitting Holland in order to stay in Lawrie Sanchez's plans.
"I still have two years of my contract to run but if I feel it is necessary to return, even to play in the lower leagues, that is what I will do," he added.
"I have always taken pride in playing for my country and I won't let anything stand in the way."
The 29-year-old believes the team are in the mood to bounce back after the 3-0 home defeat by Poland at the weekend.
"I am angry at what happened in that game but we have to move on," he said.
"The lads have talked about it and the good thing is we don't have to wait two or three months for the next game. This one has come around in a matter of days."
