The Sunday papers have provided a string of superlatives to describe the performance of Lionel Messi in Barcelona's emphatic 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

Our favourite is "The Lionel King" on the back of the Sunday Express, while the News of the World (subscription required) goes with "Messiah!"

The Sunday Times (subscription required) calls him "King Messi" and the Mail on Sunday goes with "Messi the magician" while the Sunday Telegraph calls it the "Messi final" and labels the Argentinian "Simply the best".
