Bastian Schweinsteiger has yet to agree a new deal with Bayern Munich and Germany captain and former Chelsea star Michael Ballack, speaking to Kicker magazine, has told him: "Real or Man United are both attractive and he would fit in well at both clubs."

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes the club's local rivals Manchester City will keep splashing the cash until they win a trophy. He told Inside United magazine: "We know the kind of money they're spending - they've bought another five or six players in the summer and they'll keep doing that until they win something."

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is leading the chase for Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones after sending the Blues director of football Frank Arnesen to look at the England Under-21 international at the weekend.
