1242 GMT: Valencia and Spain striker David Villa is determined to leave any transfer speculation until after the summer. "I am only thinking about the World Cup in June, I didn't get involved in any transfer talk last year, and this year even less so," the 28-year-old said.

1226 GMT: Argentina coach Diego Maradona has laid into his former international team-mate and current Real Madrid director general Jorge Valdano. He says defender Gabriel Heinze was "ruined" after being offloaded to Marseille and Gonzalo Higuain "must be next".

"The fact that an Argentine could hold back another Argentine sounds disgusting to me," he told Argentine television network TyC Sports. (goal.com)
