This season, BBC Sport football expert Mark Lawrenson will pit his wits against a new guest each week.
Actor and comedian Alan Davies got to the bottom of plenty of mysteries when he starred as TV detective/magician's assistant Jonathan Creek and this week he uses his powers of deduction to predict the results of the first round of Premier League matches in 2011.
The QI panellist, an avid Arsenal fan and season-ticket holder, made his predictions live in a Football Focus New Year's Day Special on BBC One.
Davies also gave his thoughts on the Gunners' season so far, suggesting their title hopes could be undermined by an apparent defensive vulnerability.
"Things are going well until we concede a free-kick in our own half, they lump it towards our goal and we can't seem to head it away," he said. "It's a bit of an issue with conceding, a soft centre.
"Individually talented but collectively they don't have the same cohesion that the old back four used to have. Everyone knew where everyone else was, everyone trusted everybody else, everyone communicated very, very well.
"At the moment there's a feeling that a couple of of the new signings aren't gelling."

There was no guest for Lawro to pit his wits against for the games on 28 and 29 Dec, but he got four results right, including two perfect scores.
