Paisley won three European Cups as Liverpool manager

On Saturday Football Focus asked you to vote for Britain's greatest ever manager.

We received thousands of votes and can reveal the winner, with 28% of the votes, is Liverpool legend Bob Paisley.

Paisley led Liverpool to six first division titles and three European Cups between 1974 and 1983.

Former Nottingham Forest boss Brian Clough came second with 27% of votes.

Clough became a legend for turning unfashionable Derby and Nottingham Forest into league champions, as well as leading Forest to two successive European Cups in 1979 and 1980.

And in third place was Celtic's legendary manager Jock Stein, who led the Bhoys to the European Cup, six Scottish League Cups, ten Scottish League Championships and nine Scottish Cups.

Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who celebrates 20 years in charge at Old Trafford on 6 November, came fourth in the voting.

Final results:
1. Paisley: 28%
2. Clough: 27%
3. Stein: 18%
4. Fergie: 15%
5. Shankly: 6%
6. Nicholson: 4%
7. Busby: 1%
