Rotherham's cult heroes

This vote is now closed.

Ronnie Moore has been voted Rotherham's all-time cult hero by Football Focus viewers.

Moore won with 76% of the vote, ahead of fellow Rotherham favourites Bobby Williamson and Alan Lee.

RONNIE MOORE: 76%

Simply GOD!! Fantastic goalscorer for us in the early 80's. Immortal manager now. Two successive promotions and then managing to keep us in Division One (now the Championship) on a shoestring budget.
Wayne Hopkins

For winding up opposing local supporters at local derbies, good humoured old-fashioned fun. And scoring the goals that counted during our promotion season.
Paul Rodgers

Fantastic centre forward who always had a trick up his sleeve to get a goal when it mattered. He was the saviour of The Millers, getting goals when they were really needed and helping Rotherham become Division 3 Champions 1980-81. To this day, as manager, he keeps on pulling it out of the bag and punching above his weight. (Could you ask Mark Lawrenson to stop singing Ronnie's praises on national TV - someone will hear how good he is!)
Pete Waddingham

BOBBY WILLIAMSON: 8%

'Hot shot Bobby, goals are his hobby.' THE greatest centre forward to put on The Millers kit. His goalscoring was second to none and I will always remember his back-to-back hat-tricks. His 49 goals during 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons made my Monday morning start with a smile and certainly made sure the Owls & Blades fans were quiet. His superb success with Kilmarnock has put him amongst the up and coming managers of the moment. Maybe one day he will grace us with his managerial skills. He will be at Millmoor with Plymouth this season and I for one will be giving him the cheers he deserves.
Pete Waddingham

ALAN LEE: 16%

The man who scored that goal that ensured us promotion to Division One - finally back after 20 years.
Wayne Hopkins

For that crucial winner against Brentford, 28th April 2001. Alan's crucial winner sent Rotherham United into the First Division.
Peter Ellis
