Oxford City assistant manager Mike Ford was left to rue a "painful" result as they bowed out of the FA Cup at the fourth qualifying round stage.

The BGB Southern Premier Division side lost 1-0 to a second-half goal by Blue Square Premier side Eastbourne Borough at Court Place Farm.

"We knew they were beatable, the manner of the defeat was disappointing as it was a set-piece," Ford told BBC Oxford.

"We could have won the game but we weren't good enough so we lost it."
