Cisse fell out of favour at Liverpool under manager Rafael Benitez |
France striker Djibril Cisse is planning to return to first-team action in the next week or so after recovering from a broken right leg. Cisse, who is on loan at Marseille from Liverpool, suffered the injury while playing for France against China in a World Cup warm-up game in June.
The 25-year-old told France Football: "I should be back into competitive football by mid-November."
Cisse also broke his left leg when playing for the Reds in October 2004.
He has taken about five months to recover from the injury on both occasions and predicted it will not be long before he gets back to full fitness.
"I want to bring Marseille back as high as possible even if I've missed the beginning of the season," added Cisse. "I know that I'm going to be back to my best.
"After my first injury, it took me one month to get back on top. It should be the same this time."
Cisse finished top scorer in Ligue 1 in 2002 and 2004 and Marseille will be hoping he can match those exploits to help them regain some form after three defeats.
"I have to bring some panache, try things people will not always understand," said Cisse.
