 Platini is considered one the greats of French football | France legend Michel Platini has entered the race for the presidency of Uefa, European football's governing body, it was announced on Thursday. The 51-year-old football great will challenge incumbent Lennart Johansson, the 76-year-old Swede who has headed Uefa since 1990. Platini, who won the European Player of the Year title on three occasions, is a member of the Uefa executive committee. The elections for the presidency will be held in January 2007.
