Carlos will make up his mind on his next move after the World Cup |
Roberto Carlos will wait until after the World Cup before deciding whether to join Chelsea or stay at Real Madrid. The Brazilian full-back has one year left on his current deal at the Bernabeu, but could be tempted to a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 33-year-old said: "I want to have a good World Cup and, three or four weeks later, hope to decide whether I stay at Real Madrid or go to Chelsea.
"Chelsea have made a good offer and are offering three years of contract."
If Carlos opts to leave Madrid, he insists it will be for footballing rather than monetary reasons.
He said: "The problem is not financial. The problem is the length of the contract and my motivation to play football.
"I hope I get a reply from Madrid to re-negotiate my deal, if not I'm going to look for somewhere else."
