David Beckham believes his team-mate Michael Owen wants to stay at Real Madrid, despite speculation linking the striker with a move back to England. Beckham, 30, who is reportedly set to sign a new contract at the Bernabeu, told Spanish newspaper Marca: "I think Owen wants to continue at Real Madrid.
"What is obvious is he has had a great season and has scored a lot of goals."
The England captain added: "Michael has an ability to score goals and if you give him a chance he takes it."
It has been suggested that Real may be ready to offer midfielder Beckham a two-year extension to his present deal, which runs until the summer of 2007.
Beckham has revelled in his time at the Spanish club since manager Wanderley Luxemburgo took over.
And he is keen to change the statistic that he has failed to win any silverware in his two seasons since moving to Real.
He added: "My life is football. At the moment all I am thinking about is playing and ending my career at Madrid and winning titles.
"We have not won anything this season. We have not won any titles, so next season we have to win the league and the Champions League.
"I want to win all the titles there are."
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is believed to be one of the players that Real Madrid's fans would like the club to sign but Beckham does not see that as a realistic option.
"Frankie is a great player but he is at Chelsea, who would have to let him leave," said Beckham.
"Personally, I don't think they will let him leave after the season he has had."
