Valencia coach Rafael Benitez hailed his team's unity after their Uefa Cup final win against Marseille. He said after the 2-0 victory: "We had some great players but above all we are a team that can depend on one another.
"At the beginning we had some slight difficulties but the team gave us the hope and the confidence."
Valencia have already won the Spanish title and Benitez said: "This has been a great season and we will set new targets for the next one."
Benitez admitted the 45th-minute sending-off of Fabien Barthez had helped change the game in his side's favour.
But he denied that it was harsh to effectively penalise Marseille twice with the red card for his foul on Mista, and the penalty from which Vicente opened the scoring.
Benitez added: "From the bench I expected a penalty and a red card because it was a very clear goalscoring opportunity.
"It was such a clear chance that it deserved the punishment that it got."
