Beckham scored Real's third goal |
David Beckham celebrated his first official goal for Real Madrid in Wednesday's Spanish Super Cup triumph over Real Mallorca. "I've said playing out there was going to be a special occasion and a special feeling but it can't get any better than that for a debut," said the England captain, who grabbed the final goal in a 3-0 win at the Bernabeu.
"I felt comfortable as soon as I walked onto the pitch tonight. The crowd were great with me and the players are great as well."
Beckham, who scored on Real Madrid's tour of Asia, won praise from manager Carlos Queiroz after helping his side to a 4-2 aggregate success.
"People have to understand that it's not easy to adjust to a new country, a new team and a new style of football," said Queiroz.

"But little by little he is gaining more confidence, he's a good player and I know that he can play even better than he did tonight."
Beckham had come under fire after two mediocre performances in his first two games for Real in Spain and admitted Wednesday's clash with Mallorca had been important from a personal point of view.
"There are always going to be pressure games but I can handle that," said the former Manchester United player.
"I like to correct people and make people wrong. That's what my life and career have all been about."
