Poland captain Maciej Zurawski could be ruled out of Euro 2008 because of a thigh injury.
The 31-year-old former Celtic striker picked up the injury in his country's opening 2-0 defeat by Group B rivals Germany on Sunday.
"Maciej Zurawski was unable to train on Monday," said team boss Leo Beenhakker.
"We do not know if he will be able to play again during the tournament, but I can definitely say he will not play against Austria (on 12 June)."
Zurawski was substituted after 46 minutes against Germany in Klagenfurt and Beenhakker admitted he did not know the forward was injured at the time.
"I took him off for tactical reasons," he said.
"I didn't know he was injured, I had noticed that he wasn't running as much towards the end of the first-half, I only understood why afterwards."
Poland's remaining group games are against the co-hosts and then Croatia on 16 June.
The squad has already suffered the withdrawal of winger Jakub Blaszczykowski and reserve keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
