Sweden's co-managers, Lars Lagerback and Tommy Soderberg, were philosophical after their side's quarter-final loss on penalties to Holland. "The whole team did well, both in defence and in the attack," Soderberg said. "They were focused all the time.
"We showed we wanted to win - we dared to attack. We were in command near the end. It's hard to lose on penalties."
Lagerback added: "At the World Cup we lost on a golden goal - this time on penalties so we're getting closer."
Sweden hit the bar twice while Holland also struck the woodwork after the match finished 0-0 after 120 minutes.
"It's a pity - losing on penalties is very bitter," said Lagerback.

"My players did a marvellous job against a very good Dutch side with very high individual skills and a lot of experience."
Sweden midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg and Kim Kallstrom could not hide their heartbreak.
"It feels tough," said Ljungberg. "We created a lot of chances. I'm very disappointed."
Kallstrom, who converted the first spot-kick of the shoot-out, added: "It's terrible to lose on penalties."
"We had the chance to win, in the last five minutes we had a shot against the crossbar and another shot hit the post. It's terrible."
