France midfielder Patrick Vieira believes the outcome of England's crunch Group B game against Croatia on Monday is too close to call. Vieira has played against the two sides at Euro 2004 and told BBC Sport: "It will be very difficult for both teams.
"I think that both sides have really impressed me, especially with regard to the way they play.
"England were really good defensively against us, but Croatia played really well offensively."
Vieira added: "Croatia are quite a strong team and technically really good.
"It will be a big game because England are really strong as well and both teams are desperate to go through. It will be very interesting."
England know a draw will take them through to the quarter-finals, where they could face Portugal, Spain or Greece.
But Vieira is focusing on his own team's situation.
France also need just a point against Switzerland to reach the last eight.
"To be honest with you I don't care at all about the [England] game because we are in a position where we need to take only minimal points to go through," said the Arsenal captain.
"We are thinking of ourselves first."
