Former Hajduk Split star Darijo Srna has become the great hope of Croatian football. The talented right-sided midfielder was voted the best player in the Croatian league in 2003 and earned a big-money move to Ukraine club Shakhtar Donetsk.
Srna was one of the most impressive players during Croatia's successful qualifying campaign, adding some youthful vibrancy to the midfield.
He will be one of the first players on Otto Baric's team sheet in Portugal.
However, he has found himself a little sidelined at Donetsk and has failed to reproduce the form he showed for Split.
A good performance in the finals could put him back in the shop window for a return to western Europe.
Did you know? Srna's father Uzeir is a former professional goalkeeper.
