Croatia are to postpone appointing a new national coach until next week after officials failed to agree on a successor to Otto Baric on Thursday. "After secret voting, we have got four candidates who I will speak to," FA president Vlatko Markovic said.
Ex-Slovenia coach Srecko Katanec and Zlatko Kranjcar, a former Slovenian international, are in the running.
Croatian U-21 coach Martin Novoselac and Iran boss Branko Ivankovic are also being considered for the top post.
Baric, who led Croatia's Euro 2004 campaign in Portugal and whose contract expires at the end of July, has said he is not willing to stay on in the job and is unhappy about his treatment from the media.
Croatia failed to progress beyond the group stage in Portugal after finishing third behind France and England and ahead of Switzerland after two draws and a defeat.
