Chelsea new boy Cech is up to speed on the Blues' revolution

The legend of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain lives on in Lisbon - thanks to "Nevermind" being voted greatest album of all time.

At least that was the verdict of a panel of journalists who pored over their lists at dinner in the media hotel.

Listed from one to 50, Kurt's men came out on top after a night of frenzied lobbying and much heartache over monkfish rice and several gallons of house white.

At number two was "Never Mind..." something else (I think you know which one we mean) by the Sex Pistols, before Morrissey, Johnny Marr et al were the victims of a split vote that damaged The Smiths' hopes of finishing tops.

"The Queen Is Dead" came third with "The Smiths" fourth - a cruel twist of voting fate.

The Beatles only scraped in fifth with "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", and sadly no place at all for AC/DC's magnificent "Back In Black".

Greece's shock advance to the Euro 2004 semi-finals has caught everyone by surprise - including, it seems, the journalists who cover their country's exploits.

Word has it that the media party were all booked on the first available flight out after the qualifying stages, only to have their travel plans wrecked by a victory over hosts Portugal and a fine draw against Spain.

Plan B allegedly had them all flying home after the quarter-final against France, and we all know what happened there.

So it is to be hoped that all further flights out of Portugal towards Athens are on hold.

The Portuguese may well be getting a little bit carried away with themselves.

Having not been at all confident of beating either Spain or England they seem to be taking the match against Holland for granted.

Sitting in a restaurant the other day a waiter epitomised the feelings of a nation.

He said: "So, do you think we will beat the Czech Republic in the final?"

Chelsea-bound goalkeeper Petr Cech reckons he knows all about the London club.

Cech will join Roman Abramovich's star-studded cast after Euro 2004.

He is currently concentrating on the Czech Republic's bid to win the tournament.

But he told BBC Sport: "I have seen a lot of Chelsea, during last season I saw all their games in the Champions League and I'm well informed."
