Denmark's fans probably found something more enjoyable than watching football

Denmark fans supported their team brilliantly through the group stages at Euro 2004.

Their allotted areas at each ground were packed with fans wearing red shirts and singing noisily.

But the Danish section for their quarter-final with the Czech Republic was half empty.

It seems that when planning their Euro holiday, many Danish fans had decided their team would be on their way home after three games.

Many fans struggled to acquire tickets from touts during the group stage at Euro 2004.

But this all seems to have changed now we are into the knock-out phase.

The underground station beside Porto's Estadio do Dragao on Sunday was awash with people trying to offload tickets.

One sign even had even changed from 'tickets wanted' to 'tickets for sale'.

Luis Figo disappeared into the dressing room and was not seen again after being substituted against England.

Portugal coach Felipe Scolari held an unscheduled press conference over the weekend to explain.

Scolari denied rumours of a fall out with his veteran winger.

And he insisted that Figo was not sulking after being subbed, but had chosen to spend extra-time praying on his own.
