 Canon Yaounde who held Esperance to a 1-1 draw |
Cameroon's Canon Yaounde have held Esperance of Tunisia to a 1-1 draw in Group B of the Champions League. The result had no effect on Group B with Esperance having already qualified for the semi-finals and USMA of Algeria clinching the other spot on Friday night.
In the match, played in Douala because Canon's home ground is being renovated, the home side took an early lead when Francis Oumar netted in the 8th minute.
Mourad Melki scored the equaliser for the North Africans in the 32nd minute.
The final matches in two weeks time see Esperance and USMA battling it out for top spot in the group while the Aviacao and Canon game will decide who finishes bottom.
