Team news:

Rio Ferdinand returns to the Man Utd defence in place of John O'Shea - Ryan Giggs is on the bench. Villa make four changes, with Mark Delaney, Oyvind Leonhardsen, Ian Taylor and Stefan Moore all coming in.

Edu replaces the suspended Patrick Vieira for Arsenal, who have Dennis Bergkamp and Robert Pires on the bench. Blackburn bring in Tugay for Keith Gillespie.

Salif Diao and El Hadji Diouf are in the Liverpool side at home to Spurs, for whom Gus Poyet makes his first start this season.

Boro give a first Premiership start to Stuart Parnaby, while Alen Boksic gets the nod ahead of Szilard Nemeth. Teddy Lucic plays at left-back for Leeds, while Alan Smith is fit to play - fit-again Michael Bridges is on the bench.

Shay Given returns in goal for Newcastle, but Craig Bellamy is injured so Shola Ameobi plays alongside Alan Shearer. Charlton are without Paul Konchesky, but Robbie Mustoe shakes off a hip knock.

Chelsea bring in Jesper Gronkjaer for Jody Morris, while Scott Dobie and Derek McInnes return for West Brom.

Ali Benarbia and Shaun Wright-Phillips drop to the Man City bench at St Andrews, where Birmingham welcome back Darren Purse and Aliou Cisse from suspension.
