League Two guide: Shrewsbury Town - Wycombe Wanderers

Graham Turner, Paul Sturrock, Graham Westley, Paul Simpson, Paul Buckle and Gary Waddock

BBC Sport's club-by-club guide to the 2010/11 League Two season, from Shrewsbury Town to Wycombe Wanderers.

SHREWSBURY TOWN
Shrewsbury Town

Manager: Graham Turner

Last season: 12th

Strengths: A wave of optimism with the return of former player-manager Turner to the hot seat, plenty of new signings and a change in style - Turner believes a skilful, passing side can win promotion.

Weaknesses: The heavy pressure there has been on both the players and manager since the move to the new stadium three years ago.

Key man: The Shrews will be looking to former Wycombe striker Matt Harrold to replace departed frontman Dave Hibbert and forge a useful goalscoring partnership with Jake Robinson.

SOUTHEND UNITED
Southend United

Manager: Paul Sturrock

Last season: 23rd in League One, relegated.

Strengths: With a new-look team Southend will be an unknown quantity and that could work in their favour.

Weaknesses: Continuing financial problems make it difficult to concentrate on playing matters.

Key man: Boss Sturrock has taken over a club in a financial mess and he needs to mould a squad capable of putting the smiles back on fans' faces.

STEVENAGE
Stevenage

Manager: Graham Westley

Last season: First in the Blue Square Premier, promoted.

Strengths: Stevenage are strong defensively with a very hard-working midfield but versatility is their real quality. They have the ability to adapt to situations.

Weaknesses: Boro do not possess an out-and-out goalscorer and rely very much on goals coming from all areas of the pitch.

Key man: Midfielder Michael Bostwick was the first name on the team-sheet last term. Big things are expected from the youngster, who chose to stay at the club in the summer rather than move on.

STOCKPORT COUNTY
Stockport County

Manager: Paul Simpson

Last season: 24th in League One, relegated.

Strengths: The acquisition of Simpson, who catapulted Carlisle to back-to-back promotions, could be crucial.

Weaknesses: Behind-the-scenes turmoil, which last season forced the club into administration, may have disrupted preparations for the new campaign. Stockport fans will hope the new owners and manager can steady the ship immediately.

Key man: New chairman Alwin Thompson has said that funds will be available for Simpson to strengthen his squad. They are much needed if County are to mount a serious challenge this season.

TORQUAY UNITED
Torquay United

Manager: Paul Buckle

Last season: 17th

Strengths: The heart of the defence. Centre-backs Mark Ellis, Chris Robertson, Kieran Charnock and Guy Branston provide the Gulls with quality at the back.

Weaknesses: Buckle has no recognised right-back. Robertson and midfielder Lee Mansell fill in, but a specialist full-back would boost Torquay's back line.

Key man: Midfielder Nicky Wroe is the playmaker who pulls the strings. When Wroe plays well, Torquay play well.

WYCOMBE WANDERERS
Wycombe Wanderers

Manager: Gary Waddock

Last season: 22nd in League One, relegated.

Strengths: In Waddock, Wycombe have an ambitious manager who has overhauled the squad in pre-season.

Weaknesses: Last season was a struggle, meaning Wanderers need a good start to get the crowd behind them.

Key man: Striker Kevin Betsy has being scored plenty of goals in pre-season, form that Wycombe will want to see more of.
