Strengths: Yates was a hard-working, never-say-die midfielder who knew where the goal was in his playing days with Cheltenham and will expect the same energy and commitment from his players now.
Weaknesses: The Robins have a largely young side which will need to start well to ensure confidence stays with the players throughout the whole campaign.
Key man: Experienced centre-half Steve Elliott has signed from Bristol Rovers and should inspire the younger players around him.
Strengths: The Spireites have made the summer move to a new, state-of-the-art stadium, which should see attendances increase.
Weaknesses: Chesterfield must conquer the inconsistencies that have cost them promotion in each of the last three seasons. They got close last term, but were again unable to put in the performances when it really counted.
Key man: Striker Jack Lester is nearing the end of his career but is still a class act. New signing Craig Davies will provide him with support up front.
Strengths: Plenty of attacking options and goals in the team, and, in Steve Phillips, they have one of the best goalkeepers in the division.
Weaknesses: Defence - only Darlington (87) and Accrington (74) conceded more goals than Crewe (73) in League Two last season.
Key man: Experienced centre-back David Artell has joined Crewe on a free transfer from Morecambe and the Alex will be hoping he can shore up one of the leakiest defences in English football.
Strengths: Their impressive home record - no team in League One conceded fewer goals than the Gills at Priestfield last season.
Weaknesses: Gillingham seem to crumble every time they lose sight of the River Medway. Their inability to win at all away from home last season cost manager Mark Stimson his job.
Key Man: Striker Cody McDonald has arrived on loan as part of the deal that has taken Simeon Jackson to Norwich. He will do well to live up to Jackson's strike rate.
Strengths: So many changes in personnel, including a new management team, board of directors and several experienced players, has created a wave of optimism amongst supporters.
Weaknesses: The Bulls have almost an entirely new squad so much will depend on how quickly the players gel together.
Key man: Striker Stuart Fleetwood has returned from Charlton Athletic. If he can rediscover the form of his last spell at Edgar Street then he could prove to be a major factor in the Bulls' season.
Strengths: The Imps' front six looks to be a major improvement on last season. They offer more pace and power on the flanks and a real goal threat from the midfield.
Weaknesses: There are still some question marks over City's defence as it doesn't yet appear to be settled.
Key Man: Winger Mustapha Carayol looks to have been a great recruitment by Sutton. With pace and power, he looks to be a real attacking threat.
