Wycombe dramatically sealed promotion to League One by the tiniest margin after they slumped to a last-day defeat at home against Notts County.
The Chairboys went up by a single goal after finishing on the same points as Bury, who beat Accrington 1-0.
Wycombe went behind as John Thompson's long-range shot squeezed past Jamie Young, but they levelled when David McCracken slotted in Gary Holt's pass.
Thompson won it with a superb shot late on, but Wycombe were not to be denied.
Had Bury scored one more goal in their match at Gigg Lane, Wycombe would have had to settle for a place in the play-offs.
But despite needing only a draw to secure their promotion, they will be playing in League One next season.
