Stockport striker Tommy Rowe struck on the stroke of half-time to earn his team a point at Huddersfield.
Hatters keeper Owain Fn Williams made an excellent save from striker Danny Cadamarteri before veteran Andy Booth headed the home team in front.
But Rowe capitalised on some poor defending to slot home for Stockport.
The visiting team almost snatched victory after the break through Carl Baker but Town keeper Matt Glennon denied him with a brilliant save.
