Brentford moved into the play-off zone with victory over their promotion rivals Tranmere. Defender Michael Turner's 69th minute screamer from the edge of the box was enough to give the Bees the win.
Rovers rarely threatened the Bees goal and managed only one effort from striker Paul Hall which twisted wide.
Turner had earlier shot wide, while Darren Pratley was denied by Tranmere's John Achterberg and Isaiah Rankin also tested the keeper.
