Whittingham, Holt and Schmeichel all enjoyed successful spells in October
Peter Whittingham completed a Cardiff City Championship awards double in October as the winger has been named the division's player of the month.
The 25-year-old scored seven goals in his four games in October as he emulated Bluebirds boss Dave Jones to win the division's top individual gong.
He beat Leicester's Chris Weale, QPR's Adel Taarabt and Swansea's Alan Tate.
Norwich's Grant Holt won the League One award while Notts County keeper Kasper Schmeichel won the League Two trophy.
Whittingham scored in every one of his four games last month, including a hat-trick in Cardiff's 4-3 win at Sheffield United and their double in a 4-1 victory at Watford.
The former England Under-21 international was inspirational in Cardiff's push to second place at the Championship before their south Wales derby defeat at Swansea City.
Striker Holt scored five goals in as many games as the Canaries - including a double strike double in victories over Bristol Rovers and Stockport County - to catapult Norwich into the play-off places.
He beat off competition from Millwall's Neil Harris, Southampton's Dean Hammond and Southend's Lee Barnard.
Danish goalkeeper Schmeichel's performances helped his side remain unbeaten in their six games in October - keeping two clean sheets - as County continue their League Two promotion push.
The other contenders in League Two were Chesterfield's Drew Talbot, Crewe's Calvin Zola and Rochdale's Chris Dagnall.
