Peter Whittingham on his way to his hat-trick at Sheffield United
Goal-hungry wide man Peter Whittingham says he is ready for more after his first hat-trick in Cardiff's thrilling 3-4 win at Sheffield United.
"I'm really happy about it but it's about the team, they were brilliant and all I've done is put the ball in the back of the net," he told BBC Sport.
"We're picking up great wins and I'm hoping there's more goals to come."
Whittingham has nine goals from the last six games, helping fire Cardiff to second in the Championship table.
The Bluebirds top the division's goal-scoring league with 30, Whittingham sharing the leading hot-shot role with striker Michael Chopra on 12.
Cardiff boss praises Whittingham
The attacking midfielder's previous best goal return for a season was nine.
"Jay Bothroyd was brilliant [at the Blades], he set up a couple of my goals," Whittingham told BBC Sport Wales.
"Then Mark Hudson's flick for the second was superb. We're all just really happy.
"It's helping having Chris Burke playing wide right. If I get in the box I know the ball will bounce in somewhere and if it's not Chops it's me on the end of it."
Cardiff manager Dave Jones was delighted with Whittingham and with his side's attacking play, but remained critical of certain aspects of the performance.
