The Football League has given Ipswich and Newcastle dispensation to wear commemorative shirts when the teams meet at Portman Road on 26 September.
The shirts will later be auctioned in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation which helps fund cancer research.
Ipswich will also mark the contribution of their former manager by renaming the club's North Stand as the Sir Bobby Robson Stand.
Sir Bobby died on 31 July aged 76 following a long battle against cancer.
