Bowyer and Williamson had a coming together of heads on Saturday

Birmingham's Lee Bowyer and Preston's Lee Williamson have had appeals against their sendings-off on Saturday dismissed by the Football Association.

The midfielders were dismissed after clashing during Preston's 2-1 win, and must now serve three-match bans.

The decision means the pair will miss their clubs' final Championship games as well as both legs of the play-off semi-finals if the sides are involved.

They were sent off on the hour, with Birmingham winning 1-0 at the time.
