We must get six points - Magilton

Jim Magilton
Magilton is hoping for two wins this week

Ipswich Town need six points from two home games in the next week, according to manager Jim Magilton.

His side is eighth in the Championship, despite Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Colchester, but three other clubs below are within two points of Town.

Magilton said of Saturday's defeat: "It was a poor result, we didn't have a cutting edge and we gave away two poor goals which is worrying."

Ipswich host Cardiff City on Wednesday and Norwich City on Sunday.

Town will go into the clash against the FA Cup finalists without the injured Jon Walters and suspended Pablo Counago.

David Norris and Shefki Kuqi will have fitness tests, but are still doubtful.

Magilton continued: "Two games without a goal is a concern, but we have no impact off the bench, although Jordan Rhodes did well when he came on.

"I want players back and fit for the last few games. At the moment we have to make do with what we've got.

"Cardiff are on the up, but these are two home games that we have to win."
