Billericay Town win Essex Senior Cup

Essex Senior Cup

Billericay Town beat Aveley 2-0 to claim the Essex Senior Cup for the first time in 35 years.

First-half goals from Adam Flanagan and Harrison Chatting decided the contest as Billericay won the competition for the second time in their history.

The New Lodge outfit are searching for a Ryman Premier Division play-off place and are currently seventh in the table with four games to play.

Billericay first won the cup in 1976 with a win against Epping Town.

They have lost four finals since then, including three in consecutive years in the 1990's.
