Ferrell scored against Eastbourne last month during a loan spell at Barrow

Andy Ferrell scored twice for Gateshead as they all but consigned Eastbourne to relegation to Blue Square Bet South.

The Sports would need to win their last four games, hope for several teams above them to lose all theirs and make up a swing of 22 on goal difference.

Jon Shaw gave mid-table Gateshead the lead from close range.

Ferrell fired home from inside the area and then sealed it in injury time from outside the box, with both goals assisted by Nathan Fisher.
