Leaders Crawley saw off Darlington to remain 13 points clear at the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier.
Matt Tubbs went close with two free-kicks in the first half, but the home side could not find an opener.
Ben Smith eventually put the Red Devils ahead when he drove home from 25 yards.
Tubbs nearly doubled the lead when his header hit the post, before Dan Burn headed just over for the Quakers, but Crawley held on for the win.
