Gateshead held Crawley to a goalless draw in a drab encounter.

Craig McAllister headed against the post from Glenn Wilson's cross in a largely quiet first half.

Tynesider Tim Deasy was the busiest of the two goalkeepers early on after making a couple of comfortable saves from McAllister and Josh Simpson.

Red Devils keeper Scott Shearer also made some routine stops from Kris Gate and Jon Shaw after the break as the game petered towards stalemate.
