Sean Clancy's goal earned Fleetwood Town victory over Blue Square Bet Premier promotion rivals Wrexham.
Andy Mangan had a handful of decent chances to give Wrexham the lead but was first denied by goalkeeper Danny Hurst before shaving bar and post.
Clancy broke through on 48 minutes, following up after Chris Maxwell had saved the midfielder's initial shot.
Wrexham did have the ball in the net through Frank Sinclair but were called back for his push on Hurst.
Midfielder Alex-Ray Harvey, who has joined Fleetwood on loan from Burnley until 16 April, failed to make Micky Mellon's 16-man squad.
