Heeley's side lie in 11th place in the Blue Square Bet North
Worcester City manager Carl Heeley was pleased by his side's 0-0 draw in Tuesday's Blue Square Bet North clash at Stalybridge Celtic.
Heeley said it was important his side bounced back after the 2-1 defeat at league leaders Nuneaton on 19 February.
"I thought we were unfortunate not to pick something up at Nuneaton," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"But to come away again to another tough game it was crucial that we didn't get beaten this evening."
City went into the match level on points with Stalybridge but with two games in hand so Heeley was delighted his side still had its slender advantage over their hosts.
New left-back Asa Charlton made his debut but lasted only 34 minutes before picking up an injury and being replaced by striker Mark Danks.
Worcester had a goal disallowed but aside from that Heeley was satisfied with their night's work.
"It's a good result for us - obviously we like to nick them but we've kept a clean sheet," he said.
"We defended extremely well and I am pleased with that this evening."
