Three first-half goals saw Tamworth overcome nine-man Kettering at the Lamb Ground on Wednesday night.
Midfielder Richard Tait opened the scores with a header from inside the penalty area with two minutes gone.
Daniel Bradley made it two with a shot into the bottom corner before Kyle Perry hit a third from inside the box.
Kettering had Callum Wilson and keeper Ryan Rayner sent off in the second half but Danny Mills pulled one back for the visitors from outside the area late-on.
