Jean-Paul Marna's 14th goal of the season inspired Kettering Town to a comfortable Blue Square Bet Premier win over free-falling Newport County.
Striker Marna gave Kettering the lead as he fired Liam McDonald's ball into the bottom corner from close-range to claim his fifth goal in four games.
The hosts went further ahead as County defender Gary Warren diverted Callum Wilson's low cross into his own net.
Kettering ended the game with 10 men as keeper Willy Gueret was sent off.
County have slipped out of the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off places as the Welsh club have not won in 2011.
