North Leigh boss disappointed by Bridgwater Town replay

North Leigh

North Leigh boss Mark Gee is disappointed with the Southern League's decision to have his side replay their abandoned game with Bridgwater Town.

The Yellows' home fixture on 1 February was abandoned because of fog after 76 minutes, with North Leigh leading Bridgwater 5-0.

The match has now been rescheduled for 29 March.

Gee told BBC Oxford: "I'm disappointed. We don't know what impact this game will have and it could be important."

Gee's side do have the right to appeal the decision, via the Football Association, but they have decided not to exercise this option.

"I think it's left to a committee to decide and they've said the game has to be replayed, so all we can do is adhere to the league rules.," said the Yellows boss.

The Yellows have not lost a match since their 2-1 defeat to Frome Town on 13 November, but despite this feat Gee's side are still just 10th in the table.

"There are 18 games left to play and the play-offs are still a possibility. We're playing well and scoring goals and teams are getting closer to us," said Gee.

North Leigh travel to Somerset on Tuesday to play Taunton Town.
