Danny Mills' late goal handed Kettering a hard-fought victory over Bath City.
In muddy conditions it was the Poppies who broke the deadlock when Jean-Paul Marna netted from the penalty spot after Gethin Jones had handballed.
Bath forced their way back into the game as the rain relented and were level when Sido Jombati beat keeper Willy Gueret from outside the box.
As a stalemate loomed, Mills found space to fire the winner into the top corner from 20 yards out.
Kettering manager Marcus Law told BBC Radio Northampton:
"It was an excellent finish in any game.

"Any debut you make you want to start it off with a finish like that, and fair play to the boy.
"It (the match) wasn't a classic and at times our decision-making was poor. But we got the win and the good run continues."
Bath City boss Adie Britton told BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Somerset: "It was probably a good game for the spectator, it was very much end-to-end.
"We started poorly, in the first quarter of an hour they dominated.
"We then had half an hour in which we've played as well as we've played at any time in recent months.
"We really took them apart and we only had the one goal to show for it unfortunately."
