Two goals in the final 10 minutes from Ben Watson and Scott Murray secured a deserved home win for Bath.
Tamworth should have opened the scoring but Kyle Perry headed straight at Bath keeper Ryan Robinson before Richard Tait fired narrowly over the bar.
With the game seemingly destined for a draw, Watson put the home side in front with a terrific long-range effort that flew into the top corner.
An injury-time strike from six yards by Murray wrapped up the victory.
