Rushden & Diamonds moved up to ninth in the Blue Square Bet Premier with a comfortable win over Cambridge United.
Aaron O'Connor opened the scoring for the visitors after 14 minutes with a right foot strike from 12 yards out.
Jamie Day doubled Diamonds' lead six minutes later with a fierce drive from just outside the area.
Cambridge threatened after the break, Danny Wright heading over Paul Carden's corner, before O'Connor went close to adding a third from 25 yards.
Rushden & Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "I'm obviously delighted, we were thoroughly professional today.

"We coped with the conditions well, took a 2-0 lead into the break and I then thought we played the game out.
"When you go against the wind I think it helps and that suited us in the first half."
