Martin Brittain scored twice and created the third as Gateshead eased past struggling Eastbourne Borough.
Brittain's first came as he collected a Gary Mulligan pass and placed a shot into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
The ex-Newcastle trainee got his second when he slammed the ball past Tommy Forecast before the hosts went close, Dan Walker's shot going just wide.
Gateshead capped things off when Brittain's inswinging corner was driven in by Nathan Fisher.
